ASU grad develops bacon-flavored vodka

By Jess Harter Monday, January 31, 2011

Arizona State University graduate Sven Liden and some friends have developed Bakon Vodka:

We were just joking around like, `I wonder if a bacon-flavored spirit would be good.’ Of course, you’re like, `Well, I don’t know.’ But then we started thinking about bloody Marys and we thought, well, that would actually be pretty delicious in a bloody Mary.

The vodka, produced by Seattle’s Black Rock Spirits, has been featured on “Conan” and the “Today” show, and is available in 30 states.

It will make its Arizona debut in late February or early March.

Homebrewers have been making Bacon Vodka since at least early 2008.

That’s when I did mine and I know I got that idea from someone else.
