10 cool events during Arizona Beer Week

Arizona Beer Week, a statewide celebration of craft beer, starts Saturday. Hundreds of events are listed on the ABW website. Many are simply happy-hour-type specials – $3 pints at this bar, $4 pints at that restaurant – but there also are events we’re truly excited about, including these 10:

Arizona Strong Beer Festival: The 11th annual festival (pictured above) is the week’s featured event. More than 150 beers will be available for sampling at Steele Indian School Park in Phoenix on Saturday. [more info]

Kegs & Eggs: Restaurants like Citizen Public House, The Vig and Cork are serving breakfasts paired with craft beers on Sunday. [more info]

Bad Ass Brews Cruise: Cyclists take a Chandler tour with stops for pints at four establishments on Sunday. [more info]

Mead Dinner with Redstone Meadery: Boulder, Colo.-based Redstone adds its traditional honey wines to a five-course feast at Trader Vic’s on Sunday. [more info]

Manless Monday!: The female staffers at SanTan Brewing Co. host a women-only cheese, toffee and beer tasting on Monday. [more info]

Vegetarian Beer Dinner: Scottsdale’s Atlas Bistro teams up with Papago Brewing Co. for a vegetarian dinner on Wednesday, Feb. 23. [more info]

Beer, Cheese and Chocolate: Tempe’s Four Peaks Brewing Co. complements four of its beers with chocolate and cheese on Thursday, Feb. 24. [more info]

Strong Ale Dinner: AZ Girls’ Pint Out hosts its first coed event, a five-course beer dinner at Scottsdale’s Taggia on Thursday, Feb. 24. [more info]

Crepes and Craft Beer: Phoenix’s HB Hanratty’s Pub and Truckin’ Good Food team up to offer a three-course tasting plate on Friday, Feb. 25. [more info]

Ice Cream, Beer and Root Beer: Beer-flavored ice cream, plus other flavors from Scottsdale’s Sweet Republic, at Papago on Saturday, Feb. 26. [more info]
