Arizona Restaurant Week, which launched in 2008 and now occurs twice a year, has been trying to grow into a statewide promotion.
It might need to work on becoming a Valley-wide promotion first.
The list of participating restaurants for this spring’s incarnation – May 19-27 – was just released, and it includes just seven East Valley restaurants:
- Cork (Chandler)
- BLD (Chandler)
- The Dhaba (Tempe)
- The Landmark (Mesa)
- The Keg (Chandler and Gilbert)
- Migo’s (Guadalupe)
During the week, the restaurants will offer a prix-fixe dinner for $20, $30 or $40. The idea is to entice diners into trying new places.
But when just seven restaurants out of a couple thousand in the East Valley are participating, you’ve gotta wonder what’s going on.
