AZ Wilderness now eyeing Gilbert

By Jess Harter Thursday, May 17, 2012

Arizona Wilderness Queen Creek AZIt looks like Arizona Wilderness Brewing won’t become Queen Creek’s first brewery after all. Instead, it may become the first in Gilbert.

Those who have been following the nascent business’ tribulations know it had intended to open this summer at Power and Pecos roads, in a space (pictured above) next to Trophy’s Steakhouse.

Those plans were scuttled when the strip mall’s biggest client, L.A. Fitness, complained about potential parking problems, forcing AZ Wilderness to look at other sites in Queen Creek.

But in his latest blog post, brewer Jonathan Buford says:

Well, we are moving cities. Gilbert, AZ has already won our hearts and now beginning to win our minds (and wallets). That is a exciting prospect. I’d say at this point  Arizona Wilderness Brewing Co. will be the first brewpub/beer producer in Gilbert is well over an 95% chance.

Of course, until the doors open, nothing seems to be for certain for AZ Wilderness.
