Chompies diners continue to prove Adam Richman of ‘Man v. Food’ is a wimp

By Jess Harter Tuesday, July 10, 2012

Kelly Brown of Mesa needed just 25 minutes to become the latest diner to take down Chompies‘ Ultimate Slider Challenge.

To win, a diner must consume a 5-pound platter of 12 of deli’s signature Jewish sliders (filled with brisket, mini potato pancakes and jack cheese) and onion strings in 30 minutes.

It’s a feat  the usually impressive Adam Richman failed to accomplish on his cable TV show “Man v. Food” in March 2010.

Brown (pictured) accomplished the feat June 30. He’s the ninth local diner to make Chompies’ Wall of Fame in two-plus years.
