Jake’s Grill & Bar, a neighborhood hangout in southeast Gilbert, has closed after 18 months in business.
The self-proclaimed family-friendly restaurant and sports bar opened in December 2010 with great promise, but seemed to do little to promote itself.
Jake’s didn’t have a website. It did create a bare-bones Facebook page, but only wrote three posts in its 18 months.
Jake’s had taken over the former Nick & Vito’s II space on the southeast corner of Higley and Queen Creek.
It was one of just a few dining options in the area.
