‘Urban country’ restaurant & bar Bourbon Jack’s Grill coming to downtown Chandler

By Jess Harter Monday, July 23, 2012

Bourbon Jack's Chandler AZBourbon Jack’s Grill, an upscale country bar and restaurant, is taking over the former Art on Boston gallery space in downtown Chandler.

Owner John Radice, who also owns the four Dos Gringos in the East Valley, calls his new concept “urban country.” He explains, “That means no sawdust on the floor, no peanut shells.”

The narrow but deep 3,200-square-foot venue, located between just-closed Urban Tea Loft and Kokopelli Winery, will seat about 130 people.

The decor is purposely spartan. A zinc-topped bar built with old mushroom boxes will run against one wall. A trellis over the bar is made from beams from a 200-year-old Pennsylvania barn.

Live music, mostly country but also a little rock, will be played Wednesdays through Sundays.

The menu will feature upscale bar food. The bar will offer whiskey flights, as well as a large selection of bourbons. There will be 12 beers on tap and a total of around 30. Radice says about two dozen will be craft beers.

A Sept. 6 opening is being targeted.
