SanTan Brewing wins gold & bronze medals at U.S. Open Beer Championships

SanTan Brewing Chandler AZDowntown Chandler’s SanTan Brewing won two medals – one gold, one bronze – at the U.S. Open Beer Championships in Atlanta.

SanTan’s Epicenter took the gold in the American amber/red category, while its flagship Devils Ale earned the bronze for American pale ale.

Mother Road Brewing, a newcomer from Flagstaff, won the American pale ale category with its Roadside.

Grand Canyon Brewing from Williams took the bronze in American wheat with its White Water Wheat.

The U.S. Open is the only major competition that allows home brewers to compete against professional brewers. This year – for the first time – a group of home brewers from San Diego won a gold medal for their barley wine.

Overall, more than 1,650 beers competed in 65 categories. (See full list of winners)
