Kai executive chef Michael O’Dowd is leaving the acclaimed restaurant at the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort and Spa in Chandler to take a similar position at the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown Hotel.
O’Dowd has spent 10 years at Kai, one of the most acclaimed restaurants in the country – and the only one in Arizona to receive five diamonds from AAA and five stars from the Forbes (formerly Mobil) travel guide.
O’Dowd’s last day at Kai will be Oct. 19. No word yet on his replacement.
At the downtown Sheraton, he will team up with Jay Bogsinske, the chef de cuisine at the hotel’s District American Kitchen.
