Tonight’s Friday Beer Class at Whole Foods Chandler tries something a little different with an IPA blind tasting. For $5, you can sample four different IPAs while guest bartenders HopHead Fred and Ben VanderMeer discuss various IPA styles and ingredients. The informal tasting starts at 7 p.m.

On Saturday, Whole Foods will host a pair of tasting events. At 4 p.m., you can sample three award-winning Belgian ales from Huyghe Brewery: Delirium Tremens, Delirium Nocturnem and La Guillotine. At 7 p.m., Hermitage Brewing from San Jose, Calif. – new to Arizona – will have seven beers on tap.

Saturday’s tastings are $5 apiece, or you can attend both for just $5.

Flancer’s offers $20-for-$10 Groupon

Flancer’s just launched a Groupon: $10 for $20 worth of food and drink at either the Gilbert or Mesa location. Several new items recently have been added to the menu, including a cumin-rubbed pork sandwich, fig-and-goat-cheese bruschetta, chipotle-lemongrass salmon. The Groupon is good through Sept. 4. Pittsburgh Willy’s chili dog special

Chandler hot dog shop Pittsburgh Willy’s is bringing back a its best-selling weekend special from earlier this year – three chili dogs for $5 – today through Sunday. Each chili dog is a half of a quarter-pound Big Willy dog topped with housemade no-bean chili and cheddar/jack.

Handlebar Tempe hosts Rockabilly BBQ

The first-ever Rockabilly BBQ at Handlebar Tempe will feature a special barbecue menu, PBR Tallboys, and Jack Daniels specials starting at 2 p.m. Saturday. There also will be hula hoop and limbo contests, music, and prize giveaways.

Fired Up Grill’s 4th anniversary

Fired Up Grill in Chandler celebrates its fourth anniversary Saturday with several specials, including $4 draft beers, $4 house wine, and $4 select appetizers all day.

Carne for a Cause at America’s Taco Shop

America’s Taco Shop hosts its second annual Carne for a Cause fundraiser Saturday. The local chain, which has two locations in Tempe, will donate 20 percent of all sales for the day to Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
