Are marshmallows the new cupcakes? Tricia Medina thinks so, which is why the Chandler entrepreneur wants to take her at-home business, Fluff It Bakery, to the next level.

Not surprisingly, she’s doing it the new-fashioned way – with a Kickstarter campaign. In fact, her Kickstarter currently is going on here. It goes until noon Wednesday, but Medina already has almost doubled her $5,500 goal.

The money will go toward securing a commercial kitchen, as well as equipment and supplies. Medina figures it’ll take three months just to make and send out the marshmallows promised to her Kickstarter supporters.

In the meantime, she has suspended her online store until she’s caught up. Look for it to restart this fall.

Fluff It marshmallow flavors include Cocoa (a perfect addition to hot cocoa), Cookies & Cream, Root Beer Float, Lemon Bar, Peanut Butter Cookie, Orange Cream, Limeade, and Maui Wowie (coconut and pineapple), just to name a few.
