Nabers, which describes itself as a friendly neighborhood restaurant with live music, will open Friday in the former Jilly’s American Grille and Ernie’s Inn building southeast of I-10 and Ray in Chandler.

The 7,575-square-foot restaurant is the first for ASU grad Jim Nenaber and his wife, Pam, who live in Chandler. It will seat 225 people indoors and 43 on the patio. The decor is mostly unchanged, other than new tables and chairs.

Besides burgers and sandwiches, the kitchen will offer a mostly classic American menu of steaks, prime rib, chops, fried chicken, and meatloaf.

The full bar will have 14 beers on tap, including the restaurant’s own Naber’s Pale Ale. Happy hour, 2-7 p.m. weekdays, will feature $5 glasses of house wine and selected craft beers.

Live music, mostly country and rock ‘n’ roll, will be performed several nights a week. A portable stage will be set up next to a 20-by-12-foot dance area.
