SanTan Brewing tapped its seasonal Oktoberfest beer today, a precursor to the brew pub’s sixth annual festival that will take place Saturday in Dr. AJ Chandler Park in downtown Chandler.

The event, which will run 4 p.m.-midnight, will feature German cuisine, craft beer, beer games, tricycle racing, a brat-eating contest, and more.

Besides SanTan Brewing, the main food vendors are Brat Haus, which will serve brats, schnitzel, sauerkraut, and pretzels, and Montana Bar-BQ, which will bring smoked meats, links and traditional sides.

A Bavarian-style beer garden will be pouring SanTan’s Oktoberfest brew – a traditional German lager (5.5% ABV) – as well as the brewery’s core beers and several seasonals.

Music will be provided by the Bad Cactus Brass Band (4 p.m.), Versions of You (7), Good Rust (7:45), 80 Proof (8:30), and headliners The Expendables (9:30).

Advance tickets are $8 at any Valley Bashas’ store or $10 at SanTan.
