Rob Fullmer, a three-time president of the Arizona Society of Homebrewers (ASH), has been named executive director of the Arizona Craft Brewers Guild.

The non-profit guild was formed in 1998 to promote the craft brewing industry in Arizona. It represents 39 breweries and 17 industry-related members in the state.

Last month, the guild elevated the executive director post to a fulltime position.

With more than 500 members, ASH is the largest home-brewing club in the country. It hosts brewing competitions and stages an annual Spring Fest and Oktoberfest, among other activities.

Fullmer was elected to his third consecutive one-year term as president last December.

The Wisconsin native, who resides in Tempe with his wife Brenda, also writes about beer for a number of outlets, including the Beer PHXation Blog.

“I want to represent the brewers of the Arizona as leaders in their communities and in the state,” Fullmer tells MXSW. “I see how they make a difference in Tempe, how their businesses have made Arizona life more enjoyable.

“I want to help them build on that. I can’t think of a better way for me to give something back to the state that I love.”
