Do you love pizza? I mean, really love pizza?

Flancer’s is looking for a few more contestants for its 14th annual Pizza Eating Contest,  a fundraiser for Warfighter Sports, Jewish Family & Children’s Service, and Sunshine Acres children’s home, at 11 a.m. Sunday at Flancer’s Gilbert location.

Gus Beisel of Tempe won last year’s event by eating 18 slices of cheese pizza in 15 minutes.

The charity contest typically draws 12-20 entrants of all ages, but the majority aren’t ultra-competitive. They do it to have a little fun and raise money for a good cause. Many don’t even finish a pizza.

The entry fee is $25 and covers all your pizza, soft drinks, and a T-shirt. The winner will receive a prize package worth more than $500. To enter, call 480-926-9077.

Even if you don’t compete, you’re encouraged to cheer on those who do Sunday. The event is open to the public.
