Wimpy’s Paradise in downtown Chandler will close Sunday and Monday to accommodate a temporary merger with sister restaurant Pittsburgh Willy’s.

When the doors re-open Tuesday morning, the San Marcos Place space will house both Wimpy’s, a burger and ice cream shop, and Willy’s, a hot dog shop.

Owner Randy Walters says the two days are necessary to install an additional refrigerator and freezer, as well as other kitchen equipment.

A new menu will show Paradise Willy’s offerings on one side and Pittsburgh Willy’s on the other. A temporary sign will feature both brands.

Homemade pierogi, a popular weekly special at Pittsburgh Willy’s, will return in a couple weeks.

Walters says he still plans to re-open Pittsburgh Willy’s in its own downtown space in 2015.
