Chandler hand-pie makers to compete in Chile Pepper Fest in Phoenix on Saturday

Eddie Castillo and Mike Caliendo from AZ Food Crafters in Chandler will be heading to Phoenix’s Roosevelt Row for the Chile Pepper Festival from 5-11 p.m. on Saturday.

The Chandler hand-pie makers – who currently are offering their seasonal Hatch Green Chile menu (pictured: green chile mac ’n’ cheese hand pie) – will compete for the hottest dish of the evening.

Festival admission is free, but you have to purchase food sampling tickets. There also will be chile roasting, cooking demos, live music, salsa dancing, kids activities, and a beer garden.
