Last week, MXSW broke the news Iguana Mack’s in Chandler was remaking itself into a new concept called Social Box Neighborhood Eatery. Now we know more details.

The new concept, which should be in place near the end of the month, will combine what it’s calling “elevated comfort food” with community stewardship. Social Box will donate a portion of its revenue each month to local non-profits.

“I wanted to start a restaurant concept that partners with the local community directly by giving back to worthy causes every single day,” says Social Box founder and partner Aaron Lopo.

Signature menu items will include wood-fire pizzas, egg rolls, a two-foot cotton candy tower, seafood guacamole, and S’mores made at patio fire pits.

The first event will be a benefit for the Chandler Education Foundation’s Teacher Scholarship Fund on Oct. 29.

Iguana Mack’s remains open daily during the restaurant’s transition.
