Jimmy’s of Chicago, a six-year-old restaurant and bar on the northeast corner of Gilbert and Pecos roads in Gilbert, is moving … a whole two miles.

The restaurant’s last day at its current location will be Tuesday, Dec. 23. Two weeks later, on Tuesday, Jan. 6, it intends to re-open on the northeast corner of Lindsay and Williams Field.

Its new site is the former home to Christina’s Pizzeria, which closed late last year. More parking and a new front patio are two of the reasons cited for the move.

The space is being extensively remodeled (it’s pictured above before work started) along the lines of Jimmy’s current location. The kitchen will be slightly smaller, but the dining room a little larger.

Twenty-four taps – up from the current 12 – will offer a wider variety of craft beers. The food menu will remain the same.
