Scottsdale favorite Cold Beer & Cheeseburgers is taking over the just-closed Uncle Bear’s on the northeast corner of Dobson and Germann in Chandler.

CB&C debuted in north Scottsdale in 2011, and opened a second location in Old Town Scottsdale in 2013.

As its name states, the eatery features cold beer – 40 on tap and another 100-plus in bottles and cans (see drink menus) – and 15 specialty half-pound cheeseburgers.

Diners also can build their own cheeseburger. CB&C offers a challenge: If you can finish your creation (with a minimum of three patties) in an allotted time, it’s free.

Besides burgers, the menu offers sandwiches, hot dogs, and several kinds of “mmmac & cheese.” There’s even a breakfast menu on weekends.

CB&C director of operations Tracy Frazier says passersby should see a fence go up around the 6,000-square-foot building in the next few days.

The restaurant is expected to open in mid- to late January.
