Chicago-based iCream Cafe, which allows customers to build customized frozen desserts, will make its Arizona debut Saturday at Mesa Riverview.

Customers choose a base of ice cream, yogurt, or sorbet, than add other ingredients. An automated mixer uses liquid nitrogen to create the dessert.

“In less than a few minutes, you can have the customized dessert of your choice,” says iCream Cafe Arizona owner Jon Cooper. “And frankly, it’s just a cool process to watch.”

Prices range from $3.99 for 6 ounces to $6.49 for 12 ounces.

“From shakes to floats and more – there is no other as customizable dessert option in this market,” Cooper says.

iCream Cafe will be open 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday-Saturday.

It will host an “official” grand opening Dec. 6, when it will hand out free desserts all day.
