“Just $5 can feed more than 20 people.”

That’s a message from United Food Bank, which is holding its annual turkey drive through Wednesday.

In addition to frozen turkeys, UFB is looking for donations of canned vegetables, instant potatoes, boxed stuffing, and canned or packaged gravy.

And, of course, cash.

The numbers are sobering: 1 in 5 Arizonans doesn’t know where their next meal is coming from, and 1 in 4 children are in danger of going to bed hungry.

You can drop off donations – even if it’s just $5 – at UFB’s Mesa locations:

  • Mesa Drive and U.S. 60 (map) until 2 p.m. today and from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Wednesday.
  • Alma School and Broadway (map) from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Wednesday.
