Romeo’s Euro Cafe in Gilbert will hold its monthly “3rd Tuesday” dinner – in which the kitchen crew creates three new menu items and the waitstaff pairs them with three wines – at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Dec. 16 “3rd Tuesday” menu:

  • Arcadian Foie: Foie gras, andouille sausage, fennel, caramelized onions, red & green jalapenos, apricots, spinach, savory bread pudding, roasted beets, crispy Brussels sprouts leaves, wasabi cream, and black caviar (paired with 2012 Benvolio Pinot Grigio)
  • Cu Mamaliga Verde: Beef short ribs, broccolini, fresh mozzarella, basil pesto soft polenta, parsley chimichurri, and pickled red onions (2005 Galante Almond Flat Pinot Noir Estate)
  • Chocolate marionberry tart (Regio Dark Wine)

Cost is $30 per person plus tax and tip. RSVP: 480-962-4224.

Also, next week’s five-course “Taste of Romeo’s Euro Cafe” dinner on Thursday will be extra special. It will feature pairings with wines rated 90 points or higher.

It also will be the final weekly “Taste” dinner of 2014, since there won’t be one on Christmas or New Year’s Day.

Dec. 18 “Taste of Romeo’s Euro Cafe” menu:

  • Foccacia De La Provincia (paired with 2011 Wild Horse Unbridled Chardonnay Santa Maria Valley 60)
  • Balsamic Steak Salad (2009 Trapiche Malbec Jorge Miralles Single Vineyard Mendoza Argentina 90)
  • Kasseri Chicken (2004 Flora Springs Out-of-Sight-Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Napa 100)
  • Pork Molise (2007 Michael David Winery Gluttony Old Vine Zinfandel, Amador 90)
  • Dangerous Dilemma (2012 Mollydooker “The Carnival of Love” Shiraz McLaren Vale Australia 125)
