It’s been five quiet months since Chao closed its doors after only 10 months on the northeast corner of Dobson and Germann.

Now, there’s activity again in the building: A new Mediterranean restaurant called The Ivy is scheduled to open in two or three weeks.

Piloting the new venture is Christodoulos Komitis, who also owns the Cyprus Grill on the southwest corner of Alma School and Queen Creek in Chandler.

Like its sibling, The Ivy will feature Greek salads, pita sandwiches, gyro meat, falafel, and souvlaki, but also a number of more upscale dishes.
