The Gilbert Food Truck Food Court celebrates the grand opening of its new downtown location with what it’s billing as the largest free roundup of food trucks in Arizona history.

More than 30 trucks will set up at the new site – the Gilbert Park & Ride parking lot next to the water tower (also the site of Saturday’s farmers market) – from 5:30-9 p.m. Friday, including:

Also debuting Friday will be the food court’s new art, vintage, and homemade market, selling jewelry, handbags, clothing, home décor, kitchen, and bath and body products.

Festivities will include live music and games. Two princesses (Elsa and Anna from “Frozen”) will be hand, as well as the mayor of Gilbert. The food court is dog-friendly.

The weekly Gilbert Food Truck Food Court launched in 2012 on the northwest corner of Gilbert and Vaughn.

After construction began on the new Heritage Marketplace, the food truck roundup moved to the east side of Gilbert Road.
