If you like SanTan Brewing‘s Mr. Pineapple seasonal ale, you’ll want to check out its younger sibling, Lime Leaf Cream Ale.

Lime Leaf debuted last year, but without much fanfare. The seasonal was rolled out for this year at the Great American BBQ & Beer Festival on Saturday.

Now it’s available on draft at SanTan’s downtown Chandler brewpub.

The cream ale is flavored with kaffir lime leaves, which are native to Southeast Asia and commonly used in Thai and Cambodian cuisine.

(Kaffir lime trees grow quite well in the Valley as long as you protect them from freezing in the winter.)

Lime Leaf has a very smooth flavor, thanks to fermentation at a colder temperature than a typical ale, and an ABV of 4.9%.
