Despite the unfortunate connotations of its name, this Sunday’s eight-hour event sounds pretty fun.

From noon-8 p.m., Brat Haus will have pretzels, brats, a pig roast, and various pickled goodies.

Special brats will include:

  • Umami Brat: A ramen-style brat made with pork, ginger, scallions, sesame and ramen noodles.
  • Das Feure (The Fire): A pork habanero pepper brat with ghost peppers and Pepper Jack cheese.
  • Sunshine Beer Brat: Made with New Belgium Sunshine Wheat beer, pork, bacon, orange zest and coriander.
  • Jerk Chicken Brat: Made with chicken, pork, seasoning, rum and scotch bonnets.
  • Minnesota’s Pride: Made with venison, wild rice, fernet and gold flakes.
  • The Hossenphefer: A rabbit brat with sweet onions simmered in red wine.

Brat Haus also will make a massive 80-foot brat that patrons can purchase in portions ($1 per inch, 6 inches minimum) with 50% of the proceeds going to the ALS Association of Arizona.

Other activities will include Arizona’s largest pretzel, sausage-making demos, stein-holding contests, brat-eating contests, and beer garden games.

Tickets are $8 in advance or $10 Sunday at Brat Haus. You also can buy tickets online.
