The Ivy quietly opened over the weekend in the former home of short-lived Chao on the northeast corner of Dobson and Germann in Chandler.

Pan-Asian cuisine has been replaced by a Mediterranean menu, courtesy of chef Christodoulos Komitis, who also owns the nearby Cyprus Grill at Alma School and Queen Creek.

Starters include traditional small bites like bruschetta, hummus, spanakopita, and calamari – as well as saganaki, a flaming cheese served on a pita.

The lunch menu offers six salads, five pitas, three pasta dishes, and a couple sandwiches.

The seven dinner entrees include sear-roasted sea bass, lamb chops, and various grilled meat skewers.

A full bar is stocked with wines (15 by glass, 16 by bottle), domestic and craft beers, sangria, and specialty cocktails.

The Ivy is open 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 11 a.m.-midnight Friday-Saturday.
