US Fries, specializing in traditional Canadian poutine with an American twist, has opened at Mill and Fourth Street in downtown Tempe.

The Calgary, Alberta-based chain opened its first Arizona location in Tucson last year.

Traditional poutine is a combination of French fries, cheese curds, and brown gravy.

US Fries supplies the “American twist” by adding additional toppings, such as chicken fajitas, beef brisket, or chile con carne.

In all, the menu offers a dozen different types of poutine, plus burgers, a pulled pork sandwich, cheese curds, and salads.

US Fries is open 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday-Wednesday and 11 a.m.-4 a.m. Thursday-Saturday.
