North Mountain Brewing in Phoenix is the latest Arizona craft brewery to ink a distribution deal, partnering with Quail Distributing.

It’s the first local brewery signed by Phoenix-based Quail, according to craft beer portfolio manager Shawn Hillman.

“North Mountain has been doing some very fun things, ranging from big Belgian beers, to light session styles, exciting seasonal releases, and various barrel-aged brews,’’ Hillman says.

Inspired by the public houses of Colonial America, Britannia, and Old World Europe, owner and brewmaster Rob Berkner opened North Mountain at Fifth Street and Dunlap in March 2013.

While its bestsellers include CREEM Golden Ale, CardinAle Red, and IPAlicious, the brewery also offers several rare styles, including an altbier and a Broyhan on its current tap list.

‘‘Everything they brew is quality, and they cater to many different palates with their exciting, broad range of styles,’’ Hillman says.

Quail will begin to distribute North Mountain beers on draft statewide with a launch party from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, at Craft 64 in Old Town Scottsdale.

Other roll-out events will held at World of Beer Tempe and Gilbert (Oct. 2), Mellow Mushroom Tempe (Oct. 6), and The Hungry Monk (Oct. 7).
