Asian megastore H Mart coming to Mesa next summer

By Jess Harter Friday, July 1, 2016

H Mart, a New Jersey-based chain of Asian megastores, will make its Arizona debut next year in the former Albertson’s on the southeast corner of Dobson and Main in Mesa.

Last month, the Republic’s Dominic Armato broke the news H Mart appeared headed to Mesa. Now the company has confirmed it.

H Mart will be across the street from the huge, Asian-focused Mekong Plaza, and a half-mile north of Mekong’s sibling, the new AZ International Marketplace.

The 63,000-square-foot H Mart will stock more than 40,000 grocery items and include small shops, a Korean bakery, and an Asian food court, according to Armato.

A summer opening is planned. H Mart currently has 52 locations in 11 states.
