Texas-based Bush’s Chicken coming to Gilbert – and they’re bringing car hops

By Jess Harter Thursday, July 28, 2016

A few weeks ago, a reader asked if I knew what was being built on the southeast corner of Val Vista and Williams Field in Gilbert. It looks like a fast-food restaurant with a triple drive-through, they thought.

Turns out it’s going to be Bush’s Chicken, a Waco, Texas-based chain known for its marinated fried chicken, iced tea, and multi-lane drive-throughs serviced by car hops.

Bush’s, which launched in 1996, currently has about 70 locations, all in Texas, but plans to add another 20-25 this year, including its first out-of-state locations in Arizona and Colorado.

The company hasn’t responded to any of my messages, so I have no idea when the Gilbert location will open.
