US Fries, the Valley’s 1st poutinerie, closes after a year on Mill

By Jess Harter Tuesday, September 20, 2016

US Fries, which specialized in traditional Canadian poutine with an American twist, has closed after one year at Mill and Fourth Street in downtown Tempe.

The Calgary, Alberta-based chain opened its first Arizona location in Tucson in 2014, and added the Mill Avenue location in August 2015.

Traditional poutine is a combination of French fries, cheese curds, and brown gravy. US Fries offered a dozen additional toppings like chicken fajitas, beef brisket, or chile con carne.

The menu also had burgers, a pulled pork sandwich, cheese curds, and salads.

The Tucson location remains open.
