After two years on the southeast corner of I-10 and Ray in west Chandler, Stingray Sushi abruptly has closed it doors.

According to various social media reports, staff was not informed of the closure until Sunday.

The original Stingray Sushi debuted in Old Town Scottsdale in 2003 and quickly became one of the Valley’s hottest sushi spots.

Additional locations opened at Biltmore Fashion Park in Phoenix in 2010 and the Scottsdale Quarter in 2011.

In September 2014, the owners closed the original, but expanded to Chandler two months later.

The Scottsdale Quarter location closed earlier this year. With the closure in Chandler, only the Biltmore location remains open.
