Barring a last-minute complication, Cogburn’s will open its third location at 5 p.m. today in the former House of Brews space on the southeast corner of Cooper and Warner in Gilbert.

Cogburn’s, a country-themed sports bar, debuted in 2011, taking over Payton’s Place on the southwest corner of Val Vista and Queen Creek in Gilbert.

It opened a second location on the southeast corner of Power and Ray in Mesa in 2014.

The new location’s 5,200 square feet have been extensively remodeled to match the other two. For example, the open kitchen has been closed off so nine TVs could be mounted behind the bar.

The 49 beer taps have been reduced to 22, half of which will feature craft beers (although there will be many more in bottles).

‘‘The food menu will be identical,’’ says Ken LaCivita, one of Cogburn’s owners. ‘‘Same beers. Same Jack Daniels.’’

What’s on tap

Charles Eisenstein, general manager of the new location, says the expansion was a catalyst for a menu revamp, which was rolled out at the other two locations last week.

The menu features 13 kinds of over-sized wings, five burgers, three pasta dishes, and 16-inch pizzas.

The bar offers an extensive collection of bourbons and tequilas. A new menu of customized margaritas will debut next week.

Familiar face

Eisenstein, who joined Cogburn’s five months ago, already is familiar with the neighborhood.

“I was an interim GM for a while at House of Brews,” he says. “I saw what this place could be.

‘‘When I first heard it was available, about 8 o’clock one night, I was on the phone to (Cogburn’s owners) by 8:15.’’
