Flancer’s in Mesa will hold the restaurant’s 17th annual charity pizza-eating contest at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 9.
The annual event is a fundraiser for Warfighter Sports, Sunshine Acres Children’s home, and Jewish Family & Children’s Services.
Last year, the restaurant raised $30,000.
The first contestant to eat two large cheese pizzas will receive a $250 cash prize and be crowned by the reigning Miss Arizona.
Cost to enter is $25 and includes a 2017 Flancer’s pizza t-shirt, pizza, and drink.
Although there a few serious contestants, most compete for fun and simply to support the charities. To sign up, call Flancer’s 480-396-0077.
