Señor Pancho Villa, an ambitious Mexican restaurant and nightclub near I-10 and Ray in west Chandler, apparently has closed after less than two months.
No official announcement has been made, but the doors were locked Thursday and the phone disconnected.
The restaurant opened April 7 in a cavernous building (7,575 square feet) on 54th Street, about a quarter-mile south of Ray, that originally was Jilly’s American Grille and later Nabers.
Señor Pancho Villa was in trouble from the start, as evidenced by a wave of one-star Yelp reviews. A month-old banner proclaiming new management still hangs on the side of the building.
