Salad and Go, the Gilbert-based chain of ‘‘drive-through salad bars,’’ opens its first Chandler location at 10:30 a.m. today on the southeast corner of Kyrene and Chandler Boulevard.

It is the four-and-a-half-year-old concept’s 10th Valley location.

Salad and Go offers a menu of 10 made-to-order gourmet salads, all also available as wraps. The hefty salads come in 48-ounce bowls and are priced at $5.74.

There’s also a rotating seasonal menu with two more salads – including a Sonoran Salad (pictured) – and two soups.

As is Salad and Go’s custom with new locations, Chandler will focus on lunch and dinner for the first couple of weeks before launching its breakfast menu.

Former elementary school teacher Roushan Cristofellis came up with idea for Salad and Go when she and her husband couldn’t find any healthy fast-food options in their Gilbert neighborhood.

The couple now have locations in Gilbert (three), Mesa (two), Phoenix (two), Surprise, Tolleson, and Chandler.
