Bitters, a small gastropub that had its soft opening 10 days ago at SkySong in south Scottsdale, holds its official grand opening Friday.

SkySong, also known as the ASU Scottsdale Innovation Center, is located on the southeast corner of Scottsdale and McDowell.

The 2,700-square-foot craft cocktail bar and restaurant, the brainchild of Mesa native Erika Rode, is the first of four restaurants planned for the building.

Bitters’ focus is a menu of 17 specialty cocktails – along with local craft beers and boutique wines – complemented by seasonal small plates from chef Ehren Litzenberger.

East Valley diners might remember Litzenberger from BLD, which he helped open in Chandler in 2011.

Bitters is open 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 11 a.m.-midnight Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday.
