If ice cream and chocolate are two of your major food groups, here’s a new place you’ll definitely want to check out: Crème & Chocolats.
The French-inspired dessert bistro recently opened between Barnes & Noble and Costa Vida at Dana Park on the northwest corner of Val Vista and Baseline in Mesa.
The highlights of the menu are nine flavors of soft-serve ice cream:
- Vanilla
- Chocolate
- Strawberry
- Pistachio
- Orange
- Raspberry
- Butter Pecan
- Black Cherry
- Cappuccino
All are served in cones and dipped in your choice of nine varieties of Belgian chocolate:
- Milk
- Milk peanut butter
- Milk Caramel
- Milk Hazelnut
- Dark
- Dark Mint
- Dark Sea Salt
- Cookie & Cream
- White
Cones range from $2.75 for a small undipped to $5.95 for a large dipped – the prices reflecting the quality of the fine Belgian chocolate.
(You won’t confuse these chocolate-covered cones with those from McDonald’s or Dairy Queen.)
There also are sorbet bars ($3.75-$5.25) and ice cream sandwiches ($3.95-$5.45), as-is or dipped.
In addition, Crème & Chocolats offers chocolate-and-fruit-filled crepes ($7.45, pictured above) and chocolate fondue ($6.50). The latter includes fruits, pretzels, marshmallows, and two chocolate choices.
Crème & Chocolats is open 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Saturday and closed Sundays.
