Congrats to Mirza Selmic, a.k.a. ‘‘The Snowman,’’ who successfully defended his title at Flancer’s 18th annual charity pizza-eating contest Sunday at the Gilbert restaurant.

The Phoenix resident was the first to finish two large cheese pizzas in 18 minutes, 47 seconds. He won a $100 Flancer’s gift card and was crowned by 2017 Miss Arizona MaddieRose Holler and 2017 Miss Arizona’s Outstanding Teen Dimon Sanders.

The pizza contest capped Flancer’s annual fundraising campaign for three charities – Warfighter Sports, Sunshine Acres Children’s Home, and Jewish Family & Children’s Services.

Flancer’s owner Jeff Flancer estimated the fundraisers raised more than $25,000 this year.
