Green Corner, an excellent Mediterranean restaurant in Mesa, has opened a second location on the southwest corner of Alma School and Queen Creek in Chandler.

It takes over the space that formerly was Cyprus Grill, which closed last May.

Although Green Corner describes itself as ‘‘Mediterranean,’’ its influences more specifically trace to Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan.

Chef-owner Ebrahim Takkem opened his Mesa location on the northeast corner of Alma School and Southern in early 2016.

His health-conscious menu includes beef, chicken, and lamb kabobs; beef and chicken shawarma; gyros; and falafel.

The only beverages are fountain drinks.

Green Corner’s hours are 10:30 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday.
