Mike Zimmerman and Jason Jantzen, the guys behind Ahipoki‘s fast-growing presence in Arizona, are introducing a new fast-casual concept: Char’d Brisket Dogs + Burgers.

Scheduled to open in mid-September in Tempe, Char’d will offer ‘‘made-to-order, epicurean brisket dogs and brisket burgers featuring made from scratch recipes, chef-driven toppings and hot dogs and burgers which are made primarily of brisket.’’

The menu will include items such as a Mac ‘N Cheese Dog, a Growler Dog (topped with fries, cheese sauce, and bacon), a Cali Dog (with avocado, tomatoes, and pesto), and a Sonoran Dog (bacon, grilled onions, jalapenos, and chipotle aioli).

Zimmerman and Jantzen partnered with California-based Ahipoki Bowl to open the chain’s first Arizona location in Scottsdale in 2016. The pair now own 10 locations in the Valley and one in Flagstaff.

Char’d will be located next to the Tempe Ahipoki on the northeast corner of Rural and Lemon.
