Taste of Gilbert, a one-day festival of food, music, arts and crafts and family fun, takes place noon-6 p.m. Saturday at Freestone Park on Lindsay between Guadalupe and Elliot.

Parking on the north side of the park via Guadalupe) and festival admission are free.

Participating restaurants include Nicantoni’s Pizza, Rodizio Grill, and Even Stevens, among others, as well as food trucks and food vendors.

The fest also will feature live music, business vendors, and backyard games. No dogs or pets are allowed.

Chase’s Diner in Chandler celebrates its 20th anniversary this weekend with three days of events.

From 9 a.m.-noon Friday, the restaurant will host a “Friendor Fair” featuring its vendors on site interacting with guests and offering fun for the kids. “Funky Chicken” from Hickman’s Family Farms will make an appearance.

When doors open at 6 a.m. Saturday, the first 50 guests in line will get a voucher for a free short stack of Chase’s buttermilk pancakes. These 50 guests also will be eligible to win T-shirts, gift cards, a flat-screen TV or a grand prize of a year’s supply of free pancakes.

From 8 a.m.-noon Sunday, Chase’s will be collecting wish list items (leashes, collars, toys, etc.) and monetary donations for Maricopa County Animal Care and Control. The restaurant will match all monetary donations.

Chase’s Diner, owned by Skip and Nancy Chase, is located on the northwest corner of Alma School and Warner.

Flanny Bar & Grill in south Tempe hosts Huss Sausage Fest 2017 from 5-9 p.m. today.

The event will feature five different Schreiner’s sausages, five kinds of beer mustard, and eight Huss beers:

  • Scottsdale Blonde
  • Husstler Milkstout
  • Rice Pudding Porter
  • Vienna Lager
  • Copper State IPA
  • Magic in the Ivy
  • Koffee Kölsch
  • Orange Blossom

OHSO Brewery in Arcadia hosts a fundraiser for Underdog Rescue of Arizona from 5-9 p.m. today. The brewery will donate 20 percent of food and drink sales to the rescue (just tell your server you’re supporting Underdog).

The event also will include amazing food, raffle prizes and the opportunity to meet pups that Underdog currently has available for adoption.

Romeo’s Euro Cafe in Gilbert holds its weekly ‘‘Taste of Romeo’s’’ dinner, hosted by chef Romeo Taus and his wife, Janice, in a private dinning room, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

The dinners typically feature five courses selected from the restaurant’s regular menu. This week’s selections:

  • Hungarian Mushrooms
  • Tortellini Feta Salad
  • Edice’s Feta Shrimp
  • Mahi de Provance (pictured)
  • Chocolate Almond Flourless Torte

Cost is $30 per person plus tax and tip. Add five wine tastes for $10. RSVP: 480-962-4224.

Organizers of the seventh annual Arizona Cocktail Week have announced major changes for the 2018 edition.

First off, the annual promotion has been shortened to just three days – Feb. 17-19 – and renamed Arizona Cocktail Weekend.

All events have been moved from Scottsdale to downtown Phoenix for 2018.

At this time, ‘‘all events’’ consists of exactly two events:

  • The Cocktail Jam on Saturday, Feb. 17
  • Top Bars showcase on Sunday, Feb. 18

Additional events are expected to be announced.

No word yet on ticket prices or on-sale date.

Post image for Looking for an Oktoberfest? There are plenty to choose from in Valley this weekend

The official Oktoberfest – the world’s largest beer festival in Munich, Germany – runs for 16-18 days, starting in mid-September and ending the first weekend of October.

Here in the America, most breweries and craft beer bars pack the festivities into a single day. This year that day appears to be Saturday, Sept. 30., when you can partake in at least eight Oktoberfests around the Valley.

The Brass Tap

From 3-6 p.m. Saturday, The Brass Tap at Mesa Riverview will be tapping a special series of IPAs from Santa Fe Brewing. Prize giveaways will include a VIP trip for two to the New Mexico brewery’s Oktoberfest.

SanTan Brewing

From 3-11 p.m. Saturday, thousands of revelers will indulge in German food, SanTan beers, and polka music in downtown Chandler. Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers and Reel Big Fish head the music lineup.

Pedal Haus Brewery

From 6-10 p.m. Saturday, Pedal Haus in downtown Tempe will its Oktoberfest beer on tap, $5 bratwursts, $5 pretzel plates, and pop polka music. The first 50 people (and anyone in Oktoberfest attire) can buy a one-liter stein for $5 and fill it for $5 all night.

The Hungry Monk

Through Oct. 3, The Hungry Monk in Chandler is offering a special ‘‘Monktoberfest’’ food menu with bratwurst, schnitzel, and pretzel items. Oktoberfest steins of Hofbrau and Sierra Nevada are $4.

Oro Brewing

At 1 p.m. Saturday, Oro in downtown Mesa celebrates its first anniversary Oktoberfest-style. There’ll be special beer tappings, giveaways, and awesome sandwiches from neighbor Worth Takeaway.

State 48 Brewery

From 1-11 p.m. Saturday, State 48 in Surprise will launch its Oktoberfest beer and serve German food, with live bandsplaying all day. Wear your lederhosen or dirndl to get $1 off your first beer.

Saddle Mountain Brewing

From 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Saturday, enjoy $3 pints of Saddle Mountain Oktoberfest in Goodyear. A polka band will play 2-4 p.m., and there will be house-made bratwurst specials all day.

Peoria Artisan Brewery

From noon-10 p.m. Saturday, Peoria Artisan in Peoria will have its Oktoberfest lager on tap (1-liter stein for $10) and authentic German sausage platters all day, and live German music from noon-3 p.m.
