Romeo’s Euro Cafe in Gilbert holds its final ‘‘Taste of Romeo’s’’ dinner of 2016 – a special high-end edition hosted by chef Romeo Taus and his wife, Janice – at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

The dinners typically feature five courses selected from the restaurant’s regular menu. This week’s menu:

  • Feta Dill Fritters: A blend of gyros meat, feta cheese, fresh dill, spinach, and pine nuts. With yogurt sauce.
  • Roasted Vegetable Salad: Roasted vegetables, fresh herbs, quinoa, mixed greens, maple mustard vinaigrette, and feta cheese.
  • Goat Shrimp: Bacon-wrapped jumbo shrimp with feta and sun-dried tomato stuffing. Served with sauteed vegetables.
  • Pork AgroDolce: Blackened pork tenderloin, smashed crispy potatoes, green beans, grape tomatoes, roasted garlic, balsamic, and fig agrogolce.
  • Intoxicated Love: Dark chocolate, Grand Marnier, milk chocolate, and Kahlua, white and milk chocolate layers kissed by Jack Daniels (pictured).

Cost of ‘‘Taste’’ dinners usually is $27, but this special edition is $85 per person, which includes five wine pairings, tax, and tip. RSVP: 480-962-4224.

Romeo’s Euro Cafe in Gilbert holds its weekly ‘‘Taste of Romeo’s’’ dinner, hosted by chef Romeo Taus and his wife, Janice, in a private dinning room, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

The dinners typically feature five courses selected from the restaurant’s regular menu. This week’s menu:

  • Spanaki Balls: Balls of spinach, rice, mozzarella, and provolone. Battered and deep fried. Served with chilled tomato sauce.
  • Balsamic Steak Salad: Grilled steak tossed in extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar with roasted red peppers, scallions, tomatoes, mushrooms, red cabbage, artichoke hearts, and sunflower seeds with romaine lettuce.
  • Garlic Chicken Pesto: Chicken breast sautéed with roasted garlic, pine nuts in basil pesto cream.
  • Paella Barcelona: Shrimp, chicken, clams, Italian sausage, hearts of artichoke and palm, spinach, red bell peppers, onions, tomatoes, and brown rice.
  • Puff Difer: Puff pastry, fig and creamy chocolate filling, chocolate sauce.

Roasted bone-in pork loin will be the entree at this month’s ‘‘3rd Tuesday’’ dinner at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Romeo’s Euro Cafe in downtown Gilbert.

The three-course dinners feature three new dishes from Romeo’s creative kitchen crew paired with three wines selected by the knowledgable waitstaff:

  • Tapas: Assorted selection of small bites and skewers. Paired with 2013 Eroica Riesling Columbia Valley.
  • The Chop: Roasted bone-in pork loin, sweet potato puree, roasted Japanese eggplant-piquillo-red onion balsamic agro-dolce. Paired with 2014 Marchesi Antinori Tenuta Guado al Tasso Il Bruciato.
  • Puff difer: Puff pastry, fig and creamy chocolate filling, chocolate sauce. Paired with Torres “Floralis” Aqua d’Or Moscatel Dessert Wine.

Post image for The Brass Tap hosts Founders event today, launches new menu Friday (check it out)

Busy times at The Brass Tap. The craft beer bar at Mesa Riverview is hosting a Founders promo from 6-9 p.m. today, and unveiling its new menu Friday.

Founders’ local rep Scott Searles will be on hand tonight to talk about the Michigan brewery’s beers and give away some swag.

For $20, you’ll be able to get a 4-ounce pour of Nitro Rubaeus raspberry ale, seasonal Azacca IPA, and specialty Imperial Stout, along with an 8-ounce pour of rare Lizard of Koz, a barrel-aged imperial stout made with blueberries, chocolate, and vanilla.

JC’s Steakhouse in Gilbert will hold its monthly wine tasting at 7 p.m. Wednesday. This month’s focus will be on the holidays.

The food-and-wine pairings:

  • Santa’s Lost Reindeer, paired with Monogamy Cabernet Sauvignon.
  • Pumpkin bisque and a holiday salad, paired with Skouras Zoe white blend
  • Hamkey ((a turkey stuffed with ham, then stuffed with holiday dressing), mashed potatoes with gravy, and vegetables, paired with Becker Family Pinot noir.
  • Triple fudge brownie topped with candy cane cheesecake, paired with Terra d’Oro Pinot grigio.

  • Peppers Spanaki: A sweet colored bell pepper halved then stuffed with mozzarella, spinach and brown rice, baked with tomato sauce.
  • Teriyaki Chicken Salad: Sauteed chicken, black beans, cilantro, tomatoes, onions, avocado, feta, and lemon over romaine.
  • Transylvania Chicken: Grilled chicken breast layered with roasted eggplant, roasted peppers, pine nuts, and chilled balsamic beans.
  • Pork AgroDolce: Blackened pork tenderloin, smashed crispy potatoes, green beans, grape tomatoes, roasted garlic, balsamic cipollini onions, and fig agrogolce.
  • Amandine: Cake garnished with almonds.

  • Mushrooms Meteora: Button mushroom caps filled with feta cheese, capers, artichoke hearts, and dill. Baked.
  • Greek Salad: Tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, green peppers, kalamata olives, and feta cheese in olive oil and red wine vinegar.
  • Salmon de Provance: Salmon filet baked in parchment paper with pea pods, scallions, red peppers, asparagus, and onions in a caper-tomato clam sauce.
  • Tortellini Gianni: Italian sausage, cheese-filled tortellini, scallions, fresh garlic, mushrooms, and sun-dried tomatoes in marsala cream sauce (pictured).
  • Rocky Road Brownies: Chocolaty treats with chewy layer of marshmallows, nuts, and even more chocolate.

The dinners typically feature five courses selected from the restaurant’s regular menu. This week’s menu:

  • Mezzogiorno: Roasted red peppers, peas, artichoke hearts, and fresh mozzarella cheese in a pesto Dijon vinaigrette.
  • Roasted Eggplant Salad: Red peppers, kalamata olives, green chiles, carrots, garbanzos, balsamic vinegar, and olive oil.
  • Vasco De Gama: Sautéed chicken and gulf shrimp with carrots, mushrooms, green onions, sun-dried tomatoes, and whole black peppercorns in a creamy curry-mustard seed sauce with bow tie pasta and pistachios.
  • Spicy Putanesca (pictured): Grilled chicken breast and Italian sausage with sautéed black peppercorns, capers, pine nuts, kalamatas, scallions, and roasted garlic in basil-roasted and fresh tomato anchovy sauce.
  • Mocha Espresso Brownies: Rich chocolaty brownies spiked with Greek coffee, Kahlua, and walnuts.

Romeo’s Euro Cafe in Gilbert will be closed on Thanksgiving, so its weekly ‘‘Taste of Romeo’s’’ dinner, hosted by chef Romeo Taus and his wife, Janice, will be held at 6:30 p.m. Saturday this week.

The dinners typically feature five courses selected from the restaurant’s regular menu. This week’s menu:

  • Spinach Puffs: Two puff pastries filled with a blend of cheese and spinach. Served with horseradish sauce.
  • Corinthian Salad: Grilled chicken breast, hearts of palm, artichoke hearts, roasted red peppers, mushrooms, capers, and feta cheese tossed in Italian dressing over romaine.
  • Risi Bisi con Milanesa: Lightly breaded pan-fried pork cutlets, brown rice, black beans, peppadew peppers, hominy, onions, and peas cooked in chicken broth, parsley-cilantro salad, lemon wedges.
  • Chicken Veneto: Chicken breast, whole black peppercorns, capers, spring onion, mushrooms, and garlic in Marsala cream sauce.
  • Intoxicated Love: Dark chocolate, Grand Marnier, milk chocolate, and Kahlua, white and milk chocolate layers kissed by Jack Daniels.

There’s a new brunch spot in south Chandler. Cuisine & Wine Bistro, which opened in late August, debuts its brunch menu.

Brunch, only available at the Chandler location, runs 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sundays.

Since chef-owner Fabrice Buschtetz is from France, it’s no surprise the menu features numerous French favorites:

  • Parisian Bakery Basket: Croissant, pain au chocolat, brioche and French baguette with butter & jam ($9)
  • Crepes: Nutella or butter & sugar or jam ($8)
  • Belgian Waffle: Served with a Belgian chocolate sauce & vanilla ice cream ($8)
  • Bacon & Eggs: 2 strips of bacon, 3 eggs scrambled or sunny side up served with sautéed potatoes and a tomato Provencale ($10)
  • Croque Monsieur: Swiss cheese, ham and béchamel sauce, served with a mixed green salad ($10)
  • Croque Madame: Swiss cheese, ham, béchamel sauce and an egg sunny side up, served with a mixed green salad ($11)
  • Quiche Lorraine: Served with a mixed green salad ($15)
  • Omelette au fines herbes or Omelette with mushrooms or Omelette with Swiss cheese: All served with a mixed green salad ($9)
