Vatra Grillhouse to become Kitchen 56

Vatra Grillhouse, which opened just four months ago, has closed. The Arcadia restaurant’s website says it plans to reopen in early 2011 as Kitchen 56.

Vatra served what it called “delicious neighborhood food” in a “warm atmosphere.” Kitchen 56 will offer “delicious neighborhood favorites” in a “gracious atmosphere.”

No word on whether chef Peter DeRuvo (Sassi) and GM Bill DeGroot (Quiessence, Estate House) – who joined the Vatra staff last month – will be involved with Kitchen 56.

DeRuvo has been rumored to be headed to Prado, where he would replace the departed Claudio Urciuoli.
