Devil’s Ale, an American Pale Ale produced by SanTan Brewing Company in downtown Chandler, scores a lofty 96 rating from Draft magazine:
Brilliantly clear, this copper-hued brew wears a tight, bubbly white head and unleashes a wildly rich hop aroma: Fragrant floral scents flutter around dank, piney notes for a fresh, perfumelike bouquet. Toasted malts sweep over the tongue before a flash of zesty orange jumps in mid-sip, then flowery, piney hops emerge and drift over the tongue alongside the malts into the finish. Devil’s Ale’s strong malt backbone rides through the swallow, giving the hefty hop bitterness a durable foundation to dig into. In the end, this beer leaves the mouth pleasantly dry with enduring hop notes floating in the mouth.
Devil’s Ale is available on tap at SanTan and other Valley bars and restaurants. It also is available in cans at Valley retailers like Whole Foods and BevMo.
