A month after iPic Entertainment opened a dine-in theater in Scottsdale, AMC wants to convert two of its Valley movie theaters into dine-in theaters.
The chain has asked the state liquor board for approval to convert some auditoriums at the Deer Valley 30 into Fork and Screen (casual dining), Cinema Suites (upscale dining) and MacGuffins (bar and lounge).
The Esplanade 14 in Phoenix would be the second theater converted.
According to AMC public-relations director Justin Scott:
What we are planning for the Phoenix market are two of these dine-in theaters … where you will have the option to eat inside the auditorium while you are watching a movie. This is where the liquor license obviously comes in – a full-service bar in the lobby, where you can wait for and gather after a movie, where you can have drinks, wine, appetizer and desserts.
