Victoria “Vicki†Johnson, who founded Macayo’s Mexican restaurants with her husband, Woody, died Jan. 29 at age 89.
The high school sweethearts’Â first Macayo’s opened in 1950 at 4001 N. Central in Phoenix. Diners at the location, still open today, have ranged from Liberace to Bill Cosby to President Obama.
The chain currently has 18 restaurants in Arizona and Nevada.
Services will be held Thursday, Feb. 10, in Phoenix.
