Kurt Widmer of Widmer Brothers Brewery will hold a meet-and-greet at The Hungry Monk in Chandler from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Widmer (pictured on right) and his brother Rob (left) started the Portland brewery in 1974. Today, it’s the largest in Oregon and the seventh-largest in the U.S.
Widmer’s signature beer is its award-winning Hefeweizen. Recent offerings include Drifter Pale Ale, introduced in 2009, and Deadlift Imperial IPA, which debuted last year.
The Hungry Monk also will be sampling some new smoked menu items, such as pulled pork infused with Widmer’s KGB Stout and chicken-and-herb sausage steamed in Drifter Pale Ale.
